How To Avoid Being Tracked

I was watching the Tyra Banks show and there were these bitches of overprotective moms that feel they need to spy on their kids instead teaching them how to be responsible adults.

So, here's contribution to help the oppressed kids:

  • GPS Tracking

  • Most parents will use this method because it's a way of spying on you secretly while disguising it as gift. There is a simple way to stop this kind of interloping:

    1. Turn off the GPS broadcasting. In most phones, it's in the settings area. They can still track it if they tried but it won't be as easy.
    2. Turn your cell phone off. This is the only foolproof way to avoid ekectronic tracking. Turn the phone off and take out the battery. Or just leave it at home. Not having a cell phone isn't the end of the world. Trust me.

  • Computer Tracking

  • Parents are taking a page from phishers and installing software to track all emails and websites visited. This one is also simple to counter:

    1. Use other computers for all the email and websurfing you don't want your parents to know about.
    2. Check your software before doing anything, delete any program you don't recognize.
    3. Install another OS that won't support their software. I suggest using Linux, Ubuntu, Mandriva, or any number of free operating system that a search will yield.
    4. Use Ixquick to search the web.

  • Vehicle Tracking

  • Parents are using bugs to track your car. Most do it to be dicks about you speeding and going the long way home. But, they can also see where you're going and where you've been. Escape this hell by:

    1. Check the computer of your car. Don't take anything out unless it's marked as the car performance tracker.
    2. If you feel your parents will get mad that you took it out? Put it back, after microwaving it for about 10 seconds.
    3. Ride a bike, there's no shame in a good workout.
    4. Walk, scenery is great.

Just be aware at all times. It may sound stressful but you can make a game out of it. People will say you're paranoid but they're just jealous.
